Did your website survive or take a great loss? If you have no clue what I am referring to, then let me explain.
The Google algorithm change
Google released some changes to its search algorithm yesterday, known as “Mobilegeddon.” Since many companies rely greatly on Google search engine to send traffic to their website it was an update that web developers made sure to prepare for. To quickly summarize, Mobilegeddon has now given mobile-friendly websites a better placement in mobile search results as well as labeling the website mobile friendly.
What is a Google mobile-friendly website?
The reason for Google’s update is to allow consumers to have a better experience with search results when using their mobile devices. A mobile-friendly website looks great on a mobile device, loads fast, and the content is easy to read.
Unlike most of Google’s algorithm changes, this one was pre-announced to give businesses time to get ready. “Google has likely been taking mobile site performance into consideration for some time now, and we’ve worked hard to make sure we stay ahead of the curve,” states Dunahay.
Changes like this have high stakes. Getting in the tops spots on search pages attracts a large percentage of clicks. Google considers many factors when ranking pages. And with about 50% of google searches taking place on mobile devices, it is crucial to ensure that your website is mobile-friendly now.
How do you know if your website is mobile-ready?
